DeLong’s supplied 1025 tons of steel for two railroad bridges, located in Bureau County, Illinois. The plate girders are ten feet tall, and required full shop assembly to ensure fit of the lateral bracing. These 157 foot long simple span bridges were jacked horizontally into place to minimize the time that the railway had to be closed for construction.
