DeLong’s, Inc. has positions at our headquarters in Jefferson City, Missouri and our plant in Sedalia, Missouri. Jefferson City, Missouri

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structural Engineering required.
  • Completion or in process of completing Engineer in Training (EIT) designation required.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review project specifications and confer with contractors and customers on structural steel design issues.
  • Work with the Estimating Department to calculate cost and determine the feasibility of projects based on analysis of collected data.
  • Assist with plant facilities design and management to ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  • Work with the Detailing Department to prepare internal engineering and design documents to be used by the Production Department.

Requirements:

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and organizational/detail-oriented skills required.
  • Strong computer skills required, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred. 
  • Three (3) years’ experience in construction related field preferred.
  • Sales or project management experience preferred.
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in a construction related major or equivalent experience preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with current and new customers to identify potential structural steel sales
  • Review and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation, and prepare project specific cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with production, plant operations, engineering, detailing, shipping, accounting, and other sales personnel to ensure the job is completed on time and within budget.
  • Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and staff to address technical needs, resolve issues, and ensure an excellent outcome and experience.
  • Assist marketing department in efforts.
  • Act as lead on special projects and perform other duties as requested.

Requirements:

  • Shift hours are Monday – Thursday, 4:15 PM – 2:45 AM.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and time-management skills are required.
  • Welding and/or fabrication experience is required.
  • Ability to use and read a standard tape measure is required.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and shop drawings is preferred.
  • Heavy construction experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED is preferred.

  • Fabricate and assemble structural metal products.
  • Set up and operate fabricating machines such as automated welders, brakes, shears, cutting torches, and drill presses.
  • Grind, hammer, and chip workpieces to prepare for welding, cutting, bending, and straightening.
  • Use internal blueprints and procedures to verify conformance of welding and production processes to specifications.
  • Perform all functional aspects of steel fabrication as directed, including grinding, cutting, bending, welding, fitting, and assembly.

Requirements:

  • Strong organizational, verbal, interpersonal, and time-management skills are required.
  • Welding and/or fabrication experience is required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist production employees by ensuring work areas stay clean and organized.
  • Use brooms and other tools to sweep and clean production areas.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste or scrap receptacles.
  • Transport trash and scrap items to appropriate disposal or storage areas.
  • Keep tools, chains, ladders, and other production items picked up and organized.
  • Transport small equipment, parts, or tools between departments.
  • Follow all safety rules and policies.
  • Provide other assistance to production staff as needed.

Sedalia, Missouri
